When we first moved here 12 years ago, I was struck by a number of things: the mountains, the clear streams, the bright sun in summer, the bike lanes everywhere, the greenness of plants fed by rain in winter, the sheep dotting the fields...and the llamas. That's right. They're everywhere! The US Census is taking place right now, and if there were a count of "llamas in the household" I feel sure we would rank very high.
The llama pictured here, with her snaggle-toothed smile, approached me after I took the picture in my header. We were coming home from a long run in the hills with the dogs when I asked John to stop the car. I wanted to take an odd picture of the llamas grazing around a little green motorcycle, but as soon as they saw me, the friendly beasts (alarmingly) converged on me. I took this photo and jumped back in the car. The picture just cracks me up. She's smiling. And she needs dental work.
Cute! so brave of you to come so close to the llama.
