FSO: Transition

This is a truly great assignment from Redlan, in the Philippines.

I decided to look at places no further than in back of our house. This is a picture of a leek blossom opening up, an abandoned plant coming into its own this week.

At the same time a blackberry blossom is about to transform into a berry, and is being helped along by an insect.

A month ago the daisies looked like this out back where I run the dogs.

But now Oregon has entered its dry season and we won't see a drop of rain from July 4th until autumn. The daisies are fading.

The daisies are saying good bye, but the Queen Ann's lace is coming into full bloom.

The air is fragrant with its scent.

In the distance you can see that new houses are slowly marching our way as the town expands and we transition from rural to urban.

While at my feet the shadows of daisies dance on the dry path: July in my town.

  3. I know all towns have to keep up with the needs. Our county is growing by leaps and bounds. We are conveniently located close enough to several cities to be perfect place to live and raise your children. I hate to see the flowers go too. For whatever reason. Thanks for stopping by.

  9. I truely miss Oregon, I hope you get to keep that field between you and those new houses. It reminds me of that song that said they paved over paradise.
