See you in a couple of weeks

J and I are caught here in an extremely rare dysfunctional moment.

OK folks, I'm out of here for a while: 2,800 miles of road trip with my daughter, a visit to my 89-year-old mother, then home in time to go back to work. I'm pretty sure I'm going to make it through this in one piece, although I give Jessica's 16-year-old car about an 85% chance. Those aren't the worst odds, really.

It's going to be fun.
