Reub's journey

What is this?

Hi folks! I'm not in Oregon this week, but I did take this picture there recently, and decided to schedule the post while I'm gone.

I bet you can guess what this is.

She barks and she might have a pup, but this is no dog! You are looking at "spare tires" on a Steller Sea Lion, a dwindling endangered species found on the Oregon coast, and to the north. These fun animals love to rest on a specially-made floating pier in Newport, not far from where I live. The big picture of this creature is at home on my hard drive, so you'll have to imagine the rest of her: she is like an enormous seal.

  2. it has to be a dog...i think it's the neck, reaching around to see to its back, with a bit of the ear in the shot?????

  4. I think this is a woman's hand trying to pick up something small and having a hard time because it is wrapped in black fabric.

  5. I'll go with the dog theme. The rolls of chubbiness around the neck with a bit of the ear.
    Enjoy your time away!

  6. GEE Kerry, you know I need color to figure things out. Looks like a bolt of fabric to me, fake fur or cow hair, one that has been in the closet for a long time and picked up some dust and stuff. I enlarged it and everything and for the life of me I don't see an ear of a dog or otherwise???
