Randomness

Popcorn is loved world-wide, and should be served on all peace-keeping missions.

The chicken decides to cross the road! And I captured the moment.

"Chinchillas make engaging pets." Seriously?

I figured out how to make e-reader covers. Must be a genius.

An amazing rare shot of a helicopter carrying nesting material.

One way to wake up in the morning is to find this on the coffee-maker plug. Not a roach, but still.

I went on a run benefiting well-drilling in Ethiopia & there were these educational signs along the way. I would have picked a different comparison, like TWO GIANT BAGS of DOG FOOD on your head. It sounds way worse than an "average airport allowance."

This is what mushrooms look like to mice.

Garlic scapes are fantastically beautiful.

Foster cat Hester Prynne wants you to know that she has ridiculously blue eyes. In case you're interested.

  6. If I found an insect like that on a plug I'd die! Great pictures.

  7. Innovative creative and incredibly amusing pictures. Loved the first one the most - a basketful of popcorn, with lots of peanut butter I suppose.

  8. My daughter bought me a red leather Kindle cover when she bought me the Kindle...so, even though yours are originals.. Loved all the photos. Funny and surprising. Except for that early morning wake-up call before coffee. Ugh!

  9. Beautiful shots, all of them ... well, except for the bug on the plug. Yikes.

  10. Laoch: She does indeed, I wonder what the kittens will look like.

    twg: Thanks!

Stephen: That insect woke me up real fast. I didn't even need coffee after that.

RR: Actually they were serving the popcorn along with hand-roasted coffee! It was an Ethiopian celebration & that's what they do. Popcorn, of course, goes with everything.

Tabor: I thought about selling these e-reader covers, but other people (who actually know how to sew) make better ones than this. Although I have cooler fabric.

    Reya: It rhymes: plug-bug! Perfect.

ellen: Thanks. I am stricken, just a bit, with ADD & this is what happens.

    1. Great rhyme, thanks to Reya! Gail, i'm surprised at you; you are totally a bug dork; I can see it in your photos. You would have taken an amazing picture of this bug. btw, he was very carefully transported to the out-of-doors, where he slowly crawled off to oblivion. And then there was coffee.

  14. Hilary: Thanks! I am not a clever sew-er, but these were fun.

Barbara: Hi! Glad someone noticed my rare-bird copter! Hester Prynne had her kittens today; of the 4 of them I wonder how many will retain those crazy blue eyes?

  15. Like scrolling through a little book. Neat! Hester's eyes are gorgeous. I'd not hear of The Kitten's Book of Verses (next post) before but will have to get a copy now!

    1. Pauline, there is a re-print of this adorable take on Robert Louis Stevenson out there, but you can see the whole thing for free on gutenberg.org. I think it was published in 1906.
