Sight
Spring in the Willamette valley is a feast for the eyes.
Sound
The hills are alive...with the sound of turkeys. These guys regularly cross the road in front of our house.
Smell
Wisteria in full bloom.
Taste
"Spicy Szechuan Shrimp" was one of the things I made in my most recent Chinese cooking class at a local community college.
Touch
Fun to touch stuff when you're 18 months old.
(If you're gonna be a grandma, you might as well be Indiana Jones' grandma, right? The baby on the left is little R, my grandson.)
Linking to the one photo meme I ever link to: Friday My Town Shoot-Out.
A very nice selection of photos, for this week's theme.I love that last shot.
ReplyDeleteMy mouth drooled when I saw the shrimp but my heart melted when I saw the kids. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteI thought when I saw the wisteria, that was the shot of the week. But then I came to Indiana Jones...yep, heart melting stuff for sure.
ReplyDeleteJama, Hilary, and Pauline:
DeleteThank you! Once in awhile it's fun to catch a moment like the one between the 2 babies.
Last year we had a single wild turkey show up and constantly pace beside the road. We don't know if he had a mate somewhere in the bushes or if he was lost from the flock. Finally he disappeared and after that when we would see a bunch of wild turkeys I would wonder if he hooked up with them.
ReplyDeleteYour Indiana Jones is my kind of guy. He certainly is intent on his mission while the sweet young thing tries to catch his eye.
The first time I saw a turkey in this neighborhood there was just one. Now, 14 years later there are dozens! So you may be seeing more along that road.
DeleteAll these photos are winners! I love the purple flower in the first shot. I could hear the turkeys. MY mouth watered when I saw the shrimp but the little kids...oh.my.how.cute.
ReplyDeletelove the blue flowers and this is such a cute idea. I may borrow it.
ReplyDeleteRebecca and Ellen: The flowers in the 1st shot are Camas, a plant whose root was a staple food for native people long ago.
Deletebaby indy! so cute! love all those turkeys!!!
ReplyDeletewow, these photos activated all of my senses. These are really great. I love the first shot because I want to be there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteTWG, Jarielyn and Stephen:
DeleteThanks to you all.
Such wonderful photos of a beautiful place! I have a son in Eugene and two sisters in Monmouth. I've been there and to the coast several times. It is surely a feast for the sense.
ReplyDeletePauline, we live right between Eugene and Monmouth. You've driven within 10 miles of my house:)
DeleteHow cool is that? I shall wave madly when I pass it in early fall - returning the PNW in late August :)
DeleteLate August is a great time to visit Oregon. We will likely be traveling in eastern OR at that time:)
DeleteThese are all fun but that last shot is great!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cheryl.
DeleteOk, I want some of that spicy szechuan shrimp.
ReplyDeleteCooked in the shell with garlic & hot chili sauce plus chilis, the shrimp was nice and spicy. You would have enjoyed it I'm sure.
DeleteYes, sounds heavenly!
DeleteLove the shot of the children.
