Where clouds come from

Today's science lesson is on the origin of clouds.

Clouds are generated by two entities.

First, there must be ladybugs.

Second, there must be Queen Anne's Lace.

Ladybugs carefully maintain the Queen Anne's Lace throughout its life cycle.

This is a lot of work for the ladybugs, who travel from top to bottom of every plant, fine-tuning the system.

Only a ladybug can determine the exact moment of cloud-readiness.

And when that moment comes, the Queen Anne's Lace begins to produce clouds.

The clouds are released into the sky.

And that is how clouds are made.

Thank you to Hilary, from The Smitten Image, who has bestowed an honor on this post.

    1. It's what happens when an art teacher wants to teach science.

  3. Thank you Laoch. Normally I would ditch some of these, but they provided such great documentation that they had to stay.

  4. Exceedingly lovely. The lady on those perfectly plump blueberries was particularly regal.

    1. Her red-orange to the berries' blue-violet: she was definitely mugging for the camera.

    1. Stephanie: Thanks! It makes about as much sense as all of that stuff about water vapor & barometric pressure, right? :)

  7. a reasonable and perfectly illustrated argument as to why arts and sciences should remain entangled in the curriculum

    1. Absolutely. There is so much beauty in science, so much thought in art and so much to wonder at in each.

  9. thanks ... i needed that lesson ... and those lady bugs sure work hard ... a woman's work is never done, lots of clouds to be released

    1. I'm pretty sure they do lots of other stuff too. It needs further investigation.
