Reub's journey

Just for fun

Happy April Fool's Day!  Did you get fooled by anybody today?
In honor of comedy, here are a few photos that make me smile.

Our downtown alleys are graced with artwork and poetry, but somebody felt left out.

It IS a kind of curious-looking motor bike. I don't blame the alpaca for looking.

A thank you note from a bunch of middle school students. Take that, Kobe Bryant!

I found this dog running loose and so I brought him home.

We freaked each other out.

It's always good to carry a camera because you just never know when a mushroom is going to smile for you. They don't often do this. I swear this is not an April Fool's joke!

There are classier images at the Friday My Town Shoot-out, where this week's topic is "Funny." Have a look:

  1. That bike is called a Doodlebug. My brother owned one 60 years ago when he was 14.

  2. Yeah.... I'd put you up there ahead of Kobe Bryant. The grey dog definitely looks spooked. Happy April Fools Day Kerry. I enjoyed my day today too.

  4. I almost got fooled: incensed by a report that our supreme court had ruled that kids under 15 could not be home alone. Then I realized what day it was.

    1. Ah yes. Fungus is probably the more correct term. :) A smiling fungus.

  6. Did you keep the dog? I knew it was April Fool's Day and I announced on Facebook that I was aware of the day and no one could get me. And then my son got me totally.

    1. No! That dog was crazy. I took it to the shelter, and called the next day. They said the owner claimed it, and it was not the first time!

  7. I love the dog’s eyes – so expressive. I also like the mushroom – it seems very happy; that was a good catch.
I have to admit that my daughter fooled me, and I fell for it. Her husband is first generation from India and last Christmas they went there to visit his ailing uncle. They took their four children (my grandchildren, 9, 7, 5 and 3.) They live in Nashville and we bought a house there to be closer to them because my husband has Alzheimer (that is getting bad) and I am the only caregiver (and it’s getting super stressful.) So we are planning to move this summer. Well, she sent me a message saying that they had thought about it and were moving to India. I was crestfallen. Asked her about our moving from Georgia to Tennessee – she said there were in the planning stages. We went on like this for a least one hour. I finally asked her when they would move – she answered “Any April’s Fool Day” - I had really believed her and been totally fooled. So relieved but at the same time I told her she had been very naughty, giving me such terrible news.

    1. Yes. I took him to the local shelter where they scanned him, after commenting "he looks familiar." Guess he's gotten away before. :-) crazy charmer.
