I decided to look at places no further than in back of our house. This is a picture of a leek blossom opening up, an abandoned plant coming into its own this week.
At the same time a blackberry blossom is about to transform into a berry, and is being helped along by an insect.
But now Oregon has entered its dry season and we won't see a drop of rain from July 4th until autumn. The daisies are fading.
In the distance you can see that new houses are slowly marching our way as the town expands and we transition from rural to urban.
Gorgeous flowers! The area you live in is so beautiful with so many blooms around!
ReplyDeletemy girls in school would love to pick them and make daisy chains.
ReplyDeleteThe leek flower looks like onion flower.
I know all towns have to keep up with the needs. Our county is growing by leaps and bounds. We are conveniently located close enough to several cities to be perfect place to live and raise your children. I hate to see the flowers go too. For whatever reason. Thanks for stopping by.

Oh, no, the march of development. I prefer the daisies and queen anne's lace. Leeks and onions give such beautiful flowers.

ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see the transition of one season of flowers to the next. Daisies and Queen Anne's lace is such a pretty transition of nature.
ReplyDeleteI truely miss Oregon, I hope you get to keep that field between you and those new houses. It reminds me of that song that said they paved over paradise.
