The idea of the Friday My Town Shoot-Out is to post photos of your local community every Friday. This week's assignment was brought to us by Mark, from Charleston, SC.
All pics from Corvallis, Oregon.
I love the soft feel of the gray-green lichen that covers the tree limbs here in western OR.
And the moss that grows so profusely here in the rainy season from November to June.
It's hard to keep my hands off of shiny smooth surfaces like this Thunderbird at a car show.
Who can resist this? Once you touch it you have to eat it, of course.
But most of all I like the touch of animals, like this friendly horse on the Bald Hill trail where we often walk.
And of course, there are always Ed and Reub, shown here imposing themselves on a family friend. They are so soft that it's hard to keep your hands off of them. (Well, for people who don't like dogs all that much, I suppose it's easy. But those folks generally steer clear of us!)
Great post. I love the horses too but forgot to put one in. I love your previous post on hummers. That was pretty neat. I agree they are so rude, for sure. Thanks for stopping by. QMM
I'm so glad you included the horse's nose. I spent ages following the horse around the paddock, all to no avail. Could have got plenty of photos of the other end but that's quite the same as that warm, moist touch of a horse's nose. My fingers would be doing more than touching those cute cookies!
Kerry, I swear that horse is smiling at having his nose touched.... animals like the touch of human as must as we like animals.... mutual need. have a great weekend.
That cookies is definitely irresistible!you better prepare more for me, cos 2 is definitely not enough! lol
ReplyDeleteCookies and dogs. Sounds like the perfect day to me.
ReplyDeleteCookies and dogs...and cars! Great shoot.

That last shot is really great, Kerry. And I only wish I had some cookies within touching distance!
ReplyDeleteYa know...your photos really got me imagining touching those objects. Especially the lichen.

Cars and dogs, cookies and horses, what a wonderful world we live in. I just love it.
ReplyDeleteHorses, dogs, moss, lichen, and that T-Bird. Of all of them, the moss draws me the most. It's like the earth's velvet.
ReplyDeleteOooooooooo yes yes yes and yes....I love them all..every one! Wonderful post hon, Sarah
ReplyDeleteI really like that shot of the car. But I like all your things. I like to touch all these things too, especially dogs and horses and cookies. Yum.
