Reub's journey

Seems like a fun idea

There has been a lot of talk around here about genetically modified crops. I tend to support the fears of the local seed farmers, who are opposed to growing canola in this area because of its ability to cross pollinate with many of the specialty seeds that are grown in the Willamette valley.

But, sigh, like so many issues it is complicated.

I do think it would be fun if they could modify carrots to look like this.

Just for Easter.

  1. My sense of the world is that EVERYTHING is complicated. The carrots are fabulous, btw.

Reya: Sometimes I wish it were all much simpler, or that I could just see it that way. Nuances are so messy.

  3. I planted some heritage seed carrots and they came out in all colors and often 'branched'.

    1. I love funny looking vegetables. Over the years they have bred them to be uniform, so it's great to see some non-conformists pop up. I wonder what colors your carrots were.

  7. I like your Easter decoration, but I think you're hands will cramp if you try to keep it looking that way until after Easter.

    1. It was funny until I tried to wash it off. %$#! sharpies are permanent. Luckily I didn't have anywhere serious to go right after my little playtime.
