Next to a field

The middle school where I teach lies right next to a field. Look what's growing in it! It's a field of beautiful white blossoms; I've been meaning to take its picture for days and now it is beginning to fade. Still, it is so spectacular.

I should know what it is, but I don't. Ideas?

The short, steep, neglected embankment next to it is sprinkled with bright yellow poppies.

They flourish all by themselves, untended, and un-gardened. I couldn't produce anything more beautiful no matter how hard I tried.

  1. oh, i miss those beautiful poppies! i can't tell what the white is - was it a vining plant? maybe bindweed (which i think is a kind of morning glory?)? so nice that they caught your eye...i've just noticed the vetch and the chicory have shown up this week along the sides of the road...

  4. I just looked up pics of bindweed, and it isn't that. I'm thinking it probably is some legume type plant that the farmer seeded in to enrich the soil. So pretty, an amazing place for a wedding shoot.

  7. Flax blossoms are blue I think, with a different shaped flower. But I wonder if these are related, hmmm.
