If you love books and believe in the restorative power of stories then oh, you should watch this beautiful, cool little film: The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.
This is an animated short film up for an Oscar this year. It was created entirely in the state of Louisiana, under the definite influence of Hurricane Katrina. This little movie from Moonbot Studios is distinguished from those in previous years by its release online for free, and the availability of interactive apps for the iPad (already receiving rave reviews). Pretty smart! I bet they'll make back whatever ticket sales are lost by the deal with Apple.
Oh, and kudos to John Hunter for his fabulous renditions of "Pop Goes the Weasel," the centerpiece of the entire soundtrack. Loved it.
How very charming AND cool! I am in love with the soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteThank you for bringing this to my attention, Kerry. ♥
